Summary
According to the US Commerce Department, profits from current production (corporate profits with inventory valuation and capital consumption adjustments) increased $132.4 billion in Q3/2009, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,358.9 billion.  Profits increased by $43.8 billion in the second quarter.  Corporate profits in 2008 totaled $1,360.4 billion.
